We are seeking talented, highly driven individuals to join the Eventide Healthcare and Life Sciences team. This exciting opportunity offers our interns with professional and personal development within life science investing.

The Research Analyst Intern will survey the cutting-edge scientific and medical breakthroughs, evaluate companies developing novel therapeutics and technologies, analyze relevant preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial data, and engage with management team and key opinion leaders in the field to identify and invest in the most compelling and highest value creating companies.

Applications for this position will be accepted through December 31, 2021 and interviews will commence starting in mid-January, 2022.


Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the team or independently on various projects, including:

  • Conducting scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and quantitative fundamental analysis of companies, including assessment of competitive advantage, management team, industry structure, and B360 criteria.
  • Performing independent due diligence: including speaking with company management teams and industry experts and analyzing publicly available data such as company presentations, scientific literature, SEC documents, and company conference calls
  • Participating in investment buy/sell recommendations by conducting detailed fundamental analyses of companies and industries, evaluating B360 criteria, building financial forecast models, performing valuation analyses, and assessing risks
  • Analyzing financial metrics of companies by evaluating historical performance and building models of financial statements, including proprietary forecasts.
  • Performing valuation analyses on companies, including price targets as well as upside and downside valuation
  • Contributing to Eventide’s collaborative investment process by sharing views with investment team and making investment recommendations that fit within Eventide’s Business 360 philosophy and screens
  • Assisting portfolio managers by providing input on portfolio strategy, portfolio construction, and opinions on securities covered by other members of the investment team and reviewing investment operations, policies, and procedures and recommends changes to increase efficiency
  • Staying abreast of news within a sector, including business models, competitive advantages, competitive landscape, management teams, and financial metrics
  • Providing input on portfolio holdings that are covered by other investment team members


  • Pursuing or holds advanced scientific degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) or others (MBA, CFA)
  • High enthusiasm for and interest in biotech and investment
  • Demonstrate the core values of Eventide in execution of duties
  • Demonstrate good judgment and integrity in decision making
