I like to think of the industrial sector as the businesses that build, that move, or that fix. And so really in short, it's almost like the backbone of our society, the fundamental building blocks on which our world runs and our needs are met.

What makes the industrials world so exciting is that it is full of different and unique businesses. They occupy different niches. They fulfill different functions. They're exposed to different end markets and trends. They have different operating models even within the same sub-sector. I've walked some of these factory floors, visited distribution centers and spoken to people on the ground to really understand what it is they're doing and how all of this feeds into the broader strategies that the management teams are telling us in their boardrooms.

It's a very fascinating world that is ripe for fundamentals investing in research and idiosyncratic opportunities. I think for a while now, we've forgotten a little bit about who the real makers of the economy are.

And I think that's really important because the way we recognize and honor work is central to how we understand human flourishing and the common good.
